Come join us for an evening full of frights and delicious delights! Jump on our Ghost Story Trolley and take a ride into the John Duerr Forest Preserve. Gather around the roaring fire and listen to spooky stories and sign campfire songs while eating scrumptious s'mores. Costumes are welcomed! Suitable for all ages.
The experience will take approximately one hour, and the cost is $12 per person. All passengers, regardless of size or age must have a valid ticket.

Climb aboard the Terror Trolley, and embark on a journey into the haunted woods, but beware, for the spirits have become unruly. The train suddenly comes to a stop, and everyone must get off and brave the woods to reach the next station.
Survive the walk through the woods, escape the spirits, and be rewarded with s'mores and hot chocolate.
This event is not suitable for ages 12 and under, and no costumes are allowed (we want to be able to tell you from the spirits!). This event will take place if there is rain, so please be sure to dress for inclement weather.

Handicapped Accessibility
Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the equipment, the Ghost Story Train and Terror Trolley are NOT handicapped accessible.

The Fox River Trolley Museum is located in South Elgin, IL, in close proximity to restaurants catering to almost every taste and budget.
Inclement Weather, Refunds and Cancellations
All ticket sales are non-refundable unless a train is canceled. Generally, trains are canceled only in the case of extreme inclement weather as defined by the museum, and/or equipment failure.
Patrons should plan on arriving at least 20 minutes before their scheduled departure time for Ghost Story and Terror Trolley trains. Please factor the possibility of inclement weather into your travel plans.
The Fox River Trolley Museum and the Ghost Story Train and Terror Trolley
The Fox River Trolley Museum operates the Ghost Story Train and Terror Trolley as fund raising events, with funds used to maintain the Museum and its collection of antique railcars. The Fox River Trolley Museum is a registered 501c3 not-for-profit corporation.
Tickets
All passengers, regardless of age or size for the Ghost Story Train or Terror Trolley are required to purchase and display a valid ticket. Seating is provided for two adults or the equivalent per seat. Persons of size requiring additional space must purchase additional tickets as required at the time of initial ticket purchase.
Ticketing System/ Reservations
Our Internet-based reservation system reflects all of the trains and seats available in real-time. If the system indicates “0” seats available for a train, no additional seats for that train are available. Other values are as indicated, (i.e. 20 seats remaining for a train reflects 20 seats available for that specific train). Tickets purchased via the Internet for the Ghost Train and Terror Trolley are subject to a non-refundable 10% convenience charge, ($1.20 per ticket).
Seating Arrangements
By virtue of the historic equipment utilized, no specific seats can be reserved, and community seating is practiced. Although the Museum makes reasonable attempts to accommodate groups of 8 or more when tickets are purchased under ONE name, and ONE transaction for the same train, NO specific seating arrangements or contiguous seating for ANY group or individual can be guaranteed.
