THE FOX RIVER TROLLEY MUSEUM SAYS "THANK YOU" TO ELGIN AND SOUTH ELGIN RESIDENTS; OFFERS A DAY OF $1 RIDES TO RESIDENTS OF TWO COMMUNITIES
If you live in Elgin or South Elgin, mark Sunday, Sept. 19 on your calendar. That's the day that the Fox River Trolley Museum says "thank you" to its neighbors by offering Elgin and South Elgin residents $1 rides!
"It's our way of giving back to the community, which is so supportive of us," said Ed Konecki, museum president.
The offer is good only for residents of Elgin and South Elgin. Residents must show identification in order to take a $1 ride.
Regular fares apply for those who live elsewhere: $3.50 for adults, and $2 for seniors and children 3-11. Children under 3 ride free. The museum is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays throughout September.
The museum is a privately-run, all-volunteer Illinois not-for-profit organization that has preserved and interpreted the colorful heritage of Chicago's historic network of electric railroads since 1961. It is located at 361 S. LaFox St., on Illinois Route 31, in South Elgin, easily accessible from Interstate 88 or 90 or U.S. 20. For further information, or to charter a train, call (847) 697-4676.
